Aboriginal Languages Anti-Racism Education
Anti-racist Education equips students , parents, and teachers with the tools needed to address racism and ethnic discrimination, while supporting ways to build a society that includes all people on an equitable footing. Society needs to recognize that what is often thought of as universal is frequently exclusionary to groups in society who are not the majority. (Inspiring Success, 2009) Aboriginal Education Curriculum Connections
The First Nation and Metis Education Team have compiled and distributed resources to the schools over the past few years. There are currently three tubs of resources: Grades K-3, Grades 4-6 and Grades 7-9. There are additional resources which may or may not be in tubs in the school libraries or resource rooms. Please see lists below for these resources. In addition, the Office of the Treaty Commissioner has also distributed a Teaching Treaties Resource Kit which each school should have. Elders
