Churchill Community High School, located in La Ronge has a student population of over 430 students and a teaching and support staff. The school offers a wide range of programs for the students. "Churchill" has excelled academically, sending graduates to universities and to post-secondary institutions. The school has been gaining status by sponsoring science fair entries at the national level and wins awards in sports competitions and physical education programs.
Pre-Cam
Community School has a student population of over 450 students. The school, unique in design, features open areas for each quad. There is an excellent library and other classroom facilities. Many activities such as drama productions and special events days make school an exciting learning experience for the children who attend Pre-Cam. The school is proud of the many opportunities that it offers for the children of the community.

Community School is located in Air Ronge, a community adjacent to La Ronge. This is an elegently designed school recently built to accomodate over 230 elementary students. An active school program is concerned with implementing many new projects and initiatives. The school boasts a gym, modern computer room and spacious library. Classrooms are large and well-equipped. The playground is turfed and features play equipment. The school strives to offer fine programs for the multiplicity of cultures represented in the community and student population.

La Ronge (pop. 4000) is the largest northern community, 2.5 driving hours from Prince Albert. This is a thriving community, with many businesses and commercial ventures. Situated on Lac La Ronge, the town's core business area looks out over the lake. The local airport offers daily scheduled flights to and from southern and northern communities. La Ronge is also home to a fleet of water bombers and spotters used to combat forest fires in central Canada. Mining companies - Cameco and Cogema Enterprises - have offices here. Wild Rice farming is another important industry. A recently built hospital provides medical services. There is a local medical centre, dentists, chiropractor, and other health-care facilities. Supermarkets and stores offer a wide range of groceries and supplies. Department and hardware stores, restaurants, gift shops, a bakery, office supplies, hair-stylists, video-rental and fast-food outlets all provide ammenities for La Ronge residents. This is a friendly and up-beat town. The recently-renovated ice arena is home to the Ice Wolves hockey team. There is a curling club and other sports facilities. A nine-hole golf course (with gourmet restaurant) is another local attraction.
A local newspaper, The Northerner, is published weekly. Telephone and cable services are excellent. Internet is offered by Sasktel and Cable Ronge. There are banking facilities in town, an RCMP station, day-cares, and senior citizens organizations.
La Ronge has a number of post-secondary educational institutions - NORTEP/NORPAC offers degree courses from the University of Saskatchewan and University of Regina. Many graduates go on to teach in the north or embark on careers in business and government agencies. Saskatchewan Indian Federated College offers a quality instructional program of university courses and Northlands College also provides courses and SCN televised classes.
Gas stations, motels and restaurants, outfitters, garage and mechanical repairs all offer quality services. The central office for Northern Lights School Division #113 is located in La Ronge.Teachers, administrators and support staff in La Ronge and Air Ronge must rent or buy their own housing.
