There
are currently over 5 students enrolled in the one-room Isaac School.
This school is in the far north - far from any major centre - it is a peaceful
and quiet place to work. The school
and rental teacherage have water and sewer lines. Currently there is a
satellite phone system . However remote it may be, the school is provided
with all
the facilities that the division offers for students and teachers alike.
NLSD is proud of the close bonds and support systems that it offers to
teachers who face the challenges of working in more isolated communities. |
Descharme Lake is
a small community of 75 people. The community boasts of one of the finest
cross-country ski trails in Saskatchewan, featuring views of open rapids
and high relief eskers in old-growth forest. Attracting skiers from across
Canada, the trails are especially designed so that enthusiasts can reach
the heights above the forests without unreasonable vertical climbs. But it
is claimed that some of the "down runs" can be especially challenging! |
