The Hector Thiboutot Community School is a K-12 school with a teaching staff of 34 supported by para-professional, clerical, library and counseling staff. It is located in Sandy Bay, Saskatchewan and provides educational programming for approximately 520 students.

This is a full-time, continuing teaching position to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate must be eligible for Saskatchewan teaching certification.

RESOURCE ROOM TEACHER

The La Loche Community School provides educational programming for students K-12 in two separate buildings with a total enrolment of approximately 890 students and teaching staff of 63 teachers plus 24 paraprofessionals. The above position is in the Dene Building (grades 7-12); a modern, well equipped facility with an enrolment of approximately 475 students, 34 teachers plus 11 paraprofessionals

This is a full-time temporary teaching position to start as soon as possible and end June 30, 2011 (with possibility of extension). The successful candidate must be eligible for Saskatchewan teaching certification, have courses required to be a non-categorical resource teacher in Saskatchewan and have classes in administering individual standardized achievement tests and in writing personal program plans.

Salary is according to the provincial grid plus a benefits package that includes subsidized, furnished housing and a northern living allowance. Moving assistance may also be available.

The La Loche Community School provides educational programming for students K-12 in two separate buildings with a total enrolment of approximately 960 students and teaching staff of 60 teachers plus 30 paraprofessionals. The above position is in the Ducharme Building (grades K-6); a modern, well equipped facility with an enrolment of approximately 440 students, 33 teachers plus 22 paraprofessionals

EDUCATION TECHNOLOGIST

The Northern Lights School Division #113 is looking for an individual with a Bachelor of Education degree and a recent graduate of an Educational Technology post degree program to assist teachers to infuse technology applications into their classrooms where possible. This is an itinerant position which will involve travel throughout the Division.

The successful applicant will have:
Well developed background and experience in classroom based application of learning technologies; Must be able to create positive relationships with other educators; Collaborative leadership style with good interpersonal skills. Collaboratively develop a strategic plan for learning technology; ensure that each individual component of the plan supports the operation of NLSD #113 at both learning and management levels; ensure the implementation of the plan is successful and provides the foundation for further growth; Communicate and articulate educational technology plans and implementation strategies throughout the school division.

Preference will be given to candidates with previous northern experience. This is a permanent, full-time position to start as soon as possible. COMMUNITY SCHOOL COORDINATOR (17.5 HOURS PER WEEK)

The Community School Coordinator is a professional community worker who works closely with the administration, staff, students, parents and community members as a team implementing and coordinating all aspects of the Community School Program.

Responsibilities:
- to enhance community and school relations
- to coordinate in school, after school and evening programming for children and adults
- to assist in developing a positive, supportive school climate
- to encourage parents and other community members to participate effectively in all aspects of the Community School
- to take a leadership role in planning and events within the school community
- to work collaboratively with other agencies and organizations to promote community development

Qualifications:
- strong oral and written communication and organizational skills
- initiative, creativity and reliability
- experience working with children
- proven commitment to community and teamwork
- willing to work flexible hours
- valid driver's license and reliable vehicle

STUDENT SUPPORT WORKER

CAREER TRANSITION TEACHER

The Hector Thiboutot Community School requires the services of a qualified Career/Transition Teacher. Requirements for the position are a Bachelor of Education (with some Psychology or Educational Psychology classes); a Post-Graduate Diploma or Degree in Educational Psychology or a Masters degree in Educational Psychology or Psychology. For this position, some teaching will be included. Knowledge of high school programs is essential and the ability to speak Cree would be considered an asset.
