The Northern Lights School Division #113 will advocate for, equality of opportunity and support for all individuals within its jurisdiction through the provision of good governance, sound management, adherence to provincial and regional curricula and exemplary instruction.

1. That the purpose of education is to help individuals to know themselves, to develop personal resources of judgement and skills to face a future anywhere, to understand their rights and responsibilities to themselves, family and community, and to exercise the greatest degree of control over their lives.
2. Education is a shared responsibility between school and community. (Includes parents, extended family, etc.)
3. Education decision-making is improved when parents and other members of community participate in the governance process.
